Beer is a beautiful thing. It’s the reason I started this blog. As you can read in my King of Craft Beer post, I was introduced to craft beer in 2009. Yes I know, I wasn’t 21 but that’s not the point. The point is I was given the opportunity to open up my palate to craft beer.

After my first craft beer experience, I was searching through the Internet all there was to know about beer. I was going through magazines and books about beer. I wanted to try different beers from different breweries. I wanted to know all the work that went into making that great ale or lager that we love to drink. It was very interesting to me. Hops, malt, yeast,water and boom, BEER! It was that simple yet it was that complex. Craft breweries tweaking stuff here and there adding ingredients or the way it was brewed or different hops. The result gives you your favorite beer and the reason why it tastes different from other beers.

I decided to start this blog to learn. I want to make this a learning experience for myself and at the same time share and inform people of my craft beer experiences. 

I named my blog Born and Crafted in Chicago (BCC) because that’s what I am. I was born in the city of wind. I was raised here. I live here. I learned here. Home sweet home. This is where I’ll start.
